Hi all! I am Jessie English (she/her), a native Oregonian with a love for all jewelry. I am a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America, a Certified Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), and compliant with The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
With 30+ years of experience in the jewelry industry, I have a deep understanding of jewelry valuation, manufacturing, history, brand recognition, and gem identification. My work ethic is grounded in integrity, honest communication, professionalism, and attention to detail. It is important to me that all my clients receive the most accurate appraisal possible, with equal service and care.
My background is in the retail side of vintage and antique jewelry. I have also taught classes on jewelry era and materials identification. I began my appraisal journey in 2016 because nothing brings me more pleasure than to connect people with their jewelry, helping them get to know it for more than just its looks. I am equipped to handle all types of jewelry and gem identification from newly-made pieces to inherited items. Because of my long-standing career in this field, I can also broker items for clients within my large network of jewelry sellers.
I am also a Vintage and Antique Jewelry Specialist (aka "Antique Jewelry Geek"), focusing on materials and manufacturing as it relates to history. Because of this, my favorite service is to help with items that need sorting to determine what is "real," what is "precious," what should be appraised, or what you can let the kids play with. It doesn't matter to me whether it's a large diamond ring or a costume bracelet, every piece can have meaning and preciousness when you get to know it better.
When I am not spending time with jewelry, I am snuggling cats, playing board games, and camping with my husband in Oregon's beautiful wilderness.
